My therapist often says that there is no worse feeling than the feeling of having "no choice". We always have a choice - it might be a painful one, but the choice is there.

It is not my fault that the hole was there and I fell in it. Well, with time we do realize that we have plenty of possibilities to explore that might get us out of our comfort zone, but to internally grow we have to explore sides of us that we leave aside for fear, pain or just laziness.
We will be fine during those hard discoveries as long as we are kind and gentle to ourselves.Applehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00822959934978037114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5987440895219050652.post-69350095484001841172012-01-22T10:16:48.844-05:002012-01-22T10:16:48.844-05:00"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tel..."A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. Weird stuff goes on down in the dark, but it's the other half of life's experience. Light is not the whole story. Not balanced.

Maybe I just need new wallpaper to be comfortable in the hole.

Thank you for this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5987440895219050652.post-69768308371714079782012-01-20T11:25:04.430-05:002012-01-20T11:25:04.430-05:00Chrissy, you are such an inspiration. I loved this piece when you read it in class, and this post is such a great acknowledgement of a reality that certainly I (and probably lots of others) struggle with. I totally quoted you during a conversation with a friend last night - "wherever you go, there you are."
